A bit lengthy…. but I like the way he uses the video to highlight each point that he is talking about.
Now… about the point of visitors versus residents…..
I think it frames my experiences in the Web very well. I can be a resident in some areas and I am definitely a visitor in others. Interestigly enough though, I find myself a resident in the areas of social interaction (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr), and a visitor in many areas related to my work: I get in there, I use the tool, and I get out (it’s work, it’s not supposed to be fun!).

Visitors & Residents Good video from David White at Oxford. He uses the principle of visitors and residents to look at the attitudes of their students to the web, which he says was not related to age or technical skill. This seems a better approach than Prensky’s natives and immigrants.
